Lavender Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Kootenay dried lavender buds

  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, water, and lavender buds in a saucepan.

  2. Place over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 8 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to steep for 20 minutes.

  3. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a container with a pour spout. Press lightly on the lavender buds to extract as much flavour as possible.

  4. Whisk in the lemon juice, then transfer the finished syrup to your storage container and refrigerate.



What to Make?

  • Add to Lemonade

  • In Cocktails; Margaritas, Gin and Tonics, Lemon Drop Martini's

  • Stir into Hot Chocolate

  • Lavender London Fog

  • Use in steam milk or milk tea
